Precision Connections for a New Frankfurt Landmark

The Central Business Tower, one of Germany’s largest high-rise projects, is currently under construction on Neue Mainzer Straße. The 205-meter-tall tower, with 52 upper floors, will define Frankfurt’s skyline and offer modern office space in the heart of the financial district. The high-rise is complemented by the renovation of a historic section of the building featuring a facade designated as a historic landmark. Together, these developments will create spaces for work, dining, and cultural activities in a central location in Frankfurt.

Reliable Connection Solutions for a Demanding Construction Process

Since 2025, Peikko has been supplying comprehensive connection solutions for the precast reinforced concrete structure as part of this project. The solution includes PC® Beam Shoes of types PC 3, PC 5, and PC 7, as well as the corresponding PC® Corbels. In total, the order comprises more than 5,700 beam shoes and over 1,200 corbels.

The delivery package is supplemented by project-specific anchor plates and approximately 2,700 steel components that are integrated into the precast elements. Peikko’s products enable high-performance, easy-to-install connections and support efficient construction progress on the job site.

Close Collaboration Between the Design Team, the Precast Plant, and the Construction Site

Peikko’s client is Ed. Züblin AG, which is carrying out the project as the general contractor. The precast beams are produced at the Max Bögl precast plant in Gera. There, the beam shoes, anchor plates, and steel components supplied by Peikko are integrated into the precast elements during the manufacturing process, before they are transported to Frankfurt.

Thanks to early inspection approvals, production of the first components was able to begin months before the actual start of installation. As a result, the first deliveries were already available when precast production began. This close coordination between design, production, and logistics contributes significantly to a smooth construction process.

Supporting Rapid High-Rise Construction

The construction schedule is designed for a fast pace. The plan is to erect an average of one floor per week for the high-rise shell. For each floor, numerous reinforced concrete beams with integrated Peikko connection solutions are installed.

At the same time, the building core is rising using climbing formwork. Peikko products are also used here: PCs® corbels are integrated into the cast-in-place concrete cores and support the connection of the various components within the structural framework.

With its coordinated connection solutions, Peikko is making an important contribution to the efficient implementation of one of Germany’s most challenging high-rise projects.
